NAPW Announces Patricia Rede, President / Director / Founder of ECHOS of Children: Ending Chaos in Homes of Children, a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year

Garden City, NY (PRWEB) March 31, 2015

The National Association of Professional Women honors Patricia Rede as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Rede is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in nonprofits. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with nearly 700,000 members and over 200 Local Chapters.

“My background of growing up in a household challenged by poverty, domestic violence, mental illness and alcoholism was the impetus for ECHOS of Children and my children’s book series,” says Ms. Rede. “After leaving the NASA Glenn Research Center Educational Programs Office, I decided that if I were ever to follow my dream to create my own nonprofit organization, now was the time.”

As President / Director / Founder of ECHOS of Children: Ending Chaos in Homes of Children, Ms. Rede uses all that she has learned from her difficult life experiences to help others who may be dealing with similar situations. The nonprofit specializes in crisis intervention, post-crisis planning, parenting and child advocacy. It targets low-income families dealing with mental illness, substance abuse and domestic violence.

To get her messages of hope and perseverance out, Ms. Rede writes, speaks and conducts workshops. To reach young children, she is currently working on a series of books that deal with the tough subjects in a simple, yet informative manner. “My goal is to continue to expand while opening an office in California,” says Ms. Rede. “I would also like to create a nationwide program, have an online presence and gain more speaking engagements.” An Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Consultants, Ms. Rede is looking forward to continuing to build that business as well.

Awards & Accomplishments: Bachelor’s, University of California Berkeley, Family Poverty; Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators; National Alliance of Mental Illness; Mental Health America; Civic Commons; National Fibromyalgia Association; Patients Like Me
