MidAtlantic Farm Credit Names Scholarship Recipients

MidAtlantic Farm Credit has selected the students who will receive a combined total of $ 18,000 in college scholarships. The recipients are located throughout the five states MidAtlantic Farm Credit serves.



This year’s scholarship recipients are: David Bassler of New Windsor, Maryland (son of Ralph and Stacey Bassler); Jacqueline Bauer of Dayton, Maryland (daughter of Ricky and Leslie Bauer); Joy Beam of Elverson, Pennsylvania (daughter of Nelson and Marilyn Beam); Laura Fielder of Jarrettsville, Maryland (daughter of Margaret and Samuel Fielder, III); Bethany Gouchenour of Lebanon Church, Virginia (daughter of Jeff and Kim Gouchenour); Allie Hutchison of Cordova, Maryland (daughter of Kyle and Amy Hutchison); Nicole Kibler of Edinburg, Virginia (daughter of Randy and Donna Kibler); Sarah Lewis of Newark, Maryland (daughter of Andy and Bonnie Lewis); Rebecca Richardson of Williards, Maryland (daughter of Lee and Dana Richardson); Andrew Rhodes of Woodstock, Virginia (son of James and Donna Rhodes); Kyle Sollenberger of Spring City, Pennsylvania (son of David and Holly Sollenberger); and Justin Welk of Strasberg, Pennsylvania (son of Don and Emily Welk).



Each year, MidAtlantic Farm Credit offers scholarships to high school seniors or students currently enrolled in a two or four year program. The applicants or their parents or guardians must be members of MidAtlantic Farm Credit to be eligible. The selections are based on the applicant’s academic success and participation in extracurricular activities. Since the program began 15 years ago, MidAtlantic Farm Credit has distributed almost $ 238,000 in scholarships.



“We are proud to be able to continue our scholarship program into its 15th year,” says Bob Frazee, CEO of MidAtlantic Farm Credit. “These students show tremendous work ethic and ambition. There is no doubt that they have bright futures ahead of themselves, and we are honored to help them further their education and meet their professional goals.”
